Fat Burning Foods
There are many pretty standard foods that will help burn calories while you eat. Many of these fat burning foods will actually burn more calories during digestion and the process of eating than contain in the food themselves. Don’t be fooled into thinking a healthy diet is all that’s needed to lose weight though. Exercise is also required in conjunction with a healthy diet to help you lose weight. A healthy diet will assist in weight control once you have lost the weight that you require.
A diet does not necessarily mean you have to starve yourself either. Instead of the standard three large meals a day, a great way to diet is by having 5 healthy, smaller meals during the day. Or you could try having 3 smaller meals and snacking on some foods listed below to help with any hunger you may have between meals. Another way to keeping your stomach fuller more often is to drink lots of water, which also helps hydrate your body over the course of a day.
A diet including low fat diary products has been shown to be more beneficial compared to a diet with no dairy. Dairy products can help in weight loss by assisting the body to breakdown fat cells during weight loss. Milk, yogurt and some cheeses are some of the dairy products which can be included in your diet. Keep this in mind next time somebody offers you a cheese platter, its not completely off the menu.
A great fat burning source of food is citrus fruits. Oranges, limes, lemons, tangerines and the like are sources of high amounts of Vitamin C. Citrus can help heighten your metabolism, as well as increasing your overall potential to burn fat quicker than without some form of citrus. A hot lemon tea or cold lemon juice is used as a day starting drink for many diets.
While talking about citrus, almost all types of fruit are both good for you and carry some form of fat burning quality. Berries can be added to this food group. Berries have a chemical which allows the body to limit the fat it absorbs while allowing other cells in the body to release fat.
Protein in some form is still needed in any diet, so you’ll probably find meat in most of the diets around. Choose very lean meats wherever possible, and if not, cut the fat off any meats that you may be cooking. Tuna and Salmon are also great fat burning foods because of the presence of protein and omega 3 acids in them.
What’s the best way to cook these types of meats and fish? Using olive oil instead of vegetable oils. Olive oil assists in keeping cholesterol levels down as well as helping to burn fat. Olive oil is readily available these days and can be substituted easily for cooking and also used in salads as a dressing.
While these is not a definitive list of fat burning foods, they will hopefully give you good starting guide as to what can help with your weight loss or weight management.
